My, Oh Maybach: 2017 Maybach S650 Cabriolet

Admittedly, it's hard to focus with all of the amazing things going on with this particular example. While massive (and massively expensive) cabriolets may not be everyone's bag, this 2017 Maybach S650 Cabriolet is special enough to be mentioned despite its incredible pre-owned price tag.

Offered for sale here on craigslist for $224,999 in Orlando, FL, this 2017 model year example shows only 8,717 miles from new. Announced in November 2016, it had an MSRP of $337,225 (before options). If you're keeping track at home, that means the original owner paid about $12.60 per mile in depreciation. Ouch.

But, this IS a Mercedes-Maybach Cabriolet after all. The ultra-luxury S-Class convertible that rivals the Rolls-Royce Dawn in every way, including price. The Maybach S650 Cabriolet is essentially a S65 AMG Cabriolet that keeps all of its power and adds another level of luxury and most importantly for this car, exclusivity. Just 300 of these cars were produced by Mercedes worldwide with just 75 of them coming to North America. But for this price tag, is it worth it?

This particular example is finished in Designo White Diamond Metallic paint over the beautiful cross-stitched leather interior. The rear convertible top boot features Sennheiser speakers and is made of teak wood (to match the owner's yacht, inevitably) and has headlights adorned with Swarovski crystals behind the lens. Insane opulence for the buyer who doesn't know what to do with their dividend distributions each quarter. Is it worth $125,000 MORE than the S65 Cabriolet? Probably not. But if you can afford this car, you probably don't care either.
