No Reserve Auction: One-Owner 2000 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG

Fresh up on the Bring a Trailer auction block is one of the cleanest W210 E55 AMG’s we’ve seen this year...or any other since they were sold new. This 2000 model year E55 was purchased new by the seller and has been maintained exactly as it should have been for the last two decades. It’s currently offered under auction with no reserve price, the listing can be found here with Bring a Trailer- it displays a very young 83k miles.

Powered by the infamous M113 AMG V8, this E55 is sure to have retained most of its original 354 horses since new. The owners managed to keep it up to date on maintenance and the usual wear items have been replaced over time. A service from May of this year included a new air conditioning compressor, ignition coils, valve cover gaskets, a shift linkage bushing, and the cabin air filter. Twenty-three more service records along with all original docs and receipts accompany the car through the auction.

We’ve always had a love/hate relationship with Brilliant Silver (722) due to openly the paint color reveals blemishes and imperfections. In this specific instance, we love seeing it in original, well-kept form. The interior is a drama-free Black Leather interior nicely accented by the standard, yet timeless Black Birdseye Maple wood trim on the dash and door cards. All the usual accoutrements are present in this example with the pleasant addition of the now obsolete but very retro-cool StarTAC mobile phone.

If any of you enjoy watching W210 prices creep up every season, we fully expect this car to command premium given history and condition. Pending no surprises we won’t be shocked to see this car sell in the low 20’s to someone as nostalgic for W210 E55’s as we are. One thing is certain, if you’ve been holding out for the “right one”, this is probably it.
