Typically when we hear the term "Silver Arrow" we think of the R129 chassis. In this case however, we have a R230 Silver Arrow with only 40k miles listed in Tallahassee, FL for $29,500. With a price tag of over $100,000 when new, the seller's asking price seems like a fair considering a R129 Silver Arrow can go for similar pricing. The 550s were equipped with a 5.5L V8 producing 382hp which was enough to propel the SL to 60mph in 4.4 seconds.
All Silver Arrows came equipped with Red Leather interior and Designo Black Trim. The seller states the car is up to date on all maintenance and is in pristine condition. We'd recommend getting some additional pictures aside the few offered in the listing. This SL550 has the retractable panoramic hard top, airscarf ventilated headrests, and active ventilated seats.
The 2009 year models received a facelift on the R230 chassis. Primarily, the front end received the biggest update that resembles the R231. It seems every generation of SL becomes a classic over time. We saw the value bubble a couple of years ago with R107s and now the R129s are well on their way up. If these R230's continue the trend, we imagine the Silver Arrow Editions will be high on the list with only 550 units produced.
