Sorted Cab ISO New Home: 1995 E320 Cabriolet

It’s not every day we get to inspect a car in person but when we do we’re able to give the most accurate report possible. Today’s in-person sighting makes our jobs easy given it’s an exceptionally clean, facelift, W124 Cabriolet in an interesting color combination. It also helps when we know the dealer through previous listings, including the sale of one of our founder’s 1997 C36 AMG. Offered by GAS Motorcars for a very fair $11,979, this 1995 E320 Cabriolet can be seen here out of Atlanta, GA. It comes complete with a clean history, complete receipts documenting top hydraulic replacement, and only 81k miles on the clock.

Finished in Polar White (149) over Blue Leather (262), we have a hard time understanding why this cabriolet remains on the market. It’s about as clean as we’ve seen in a while and the later models appear to be holding value extremely well. The paint appears to be all original and well kept while the lower cladding even seems to have resisted 25 years of fading. The top seems to be in stellar shape and still looks to seal to the body nicely when in the closed position.

The interior seems to match the exterior nicely by way of condition and wear. Only a couple cracks in the Burl Walnut veneer keep this interior from being immaculate. The leather looks about as well kept and conditioned as we could hope for and even the carpets, much like the exterior cladding, have resisted any sun fading. Maybe we’d want to swap the head unit out from something original or more period-correct but at least it offers 21st century functionality out the gate.

As we watch the W124 Cab market the cars appear to be steadily increasing in value which makes examples like this perfect as weekend drivers or summer dailies. Given all the convenience functions are working along with the fully automatic top, we can’t find much downside to this nautically-themed convertible and it appears to be car show-ready at the turn of a key.
