Time Capsule Alert! 1999 CLK320 Cabriolet

Have you been considering getting a new convertible for Summer? A new E Class or C Class Cabriolet can be a wonderful way to experience the warm weather but much like the view, the sky’s the limit when it comes to dealer pricing. The value-conscious buyer may be looking for something closer to this 1999 CLK320 Cab showing only 10k miles on the clock. It can be found here on Facebook Marketplace for the attractive price of $16,000.

Occasionally one of these can be found pampered and driven sparingly but rarely are they found in a less than common color combination. This car is finished in Amber Red Metallic (548) over Quartz leather (215) and presents as rather refreshing in a sea of Brilliant Silver and Black.

Options are sparse but everything a driver may need for a weekend cruiser is included. Heated seats, power accessories, and a more than ample amount of burl walnut make this Cab feel like a special place 20 years after it passed through a showroom. A more polarizing option on this car is the 16” wheel option. Although not as attractive as the Monoblock or a set of BBS’s, these wheels can be attractive on the right car. Available with a polished finish, these wheels were forged and decently lighter and stronger than most other options at the time.

Altogether this CLK320 seems to have been nicely kept and maintained and shows like we’d hope it would at 10k miles. In a few photos, it seems as though the paint would greatly benefit from a clay bar and hand wax. Otherwise we’d aim to replace the original head unit with a remanufactured unit from Becker retrofitted with Bluetooth capability. The only true flaw or notable piece missing is the emblem-bearing plaque that sits atop the shift knob. No worries though, these were interchangeable through the model lineup from the era and can be found under 20 dollars online.

All things considered, this CLK is a decent buy for anyone looking to jump into a convertible either for the season or for the next decade. This car shouldn’t lose much value over the coming years, in fact it may be a decent candidate for appreciation and is guaranteed to appease a value-conscious buyer.
