Time Capsule W208: 31k-mile 2000 CLK430 Sport

We've been fortunate enough to come across and even own a few older Benzes that still maintain that fresh off the showroom floor feel and shine. For those that can relate, it's truly something special to see in today's world. In some ways, you're getting the opportunity to experience what these cars were like when new. This 2000 CLK430 Sport is going to give it's next owner that same experience. With only 31k miles on the odometer, the car truly does look immaculate from the photos provided.

The car is finished in Firemist Red Metallic (548) over Light Beige (215A) which suites the car very well. The paint is free from any blemishes or swirls typically seen on cars of this age. Even under the showroom lights the gloss of the paint looks as good as it did when new. The same can be said for the condition of the interior. The leather is free from cracking along with the woodgrain which also appears rich in color and shine. Sitting in the driver seat of this car is as close as it can get to see what it was like to walk into a Mercedes-Benz showroom in 2000.

While the CLK was offered as a 320 spec with a 6 cylinder engine and a 55 AMG spec with a beefed up V8, this example is equipped with the 4.3L M113 engine. This engine was rated at 275hp and 295lb-ft of torque when new. As most CLK430's were, this example is optioned with the AMG Sport package which greatly improves the aesthetics of the car adding AMG front and rear bumpers, along with side skirts, and staggered 17" AMG 5-spoke wheels. Other notable options includes heated front seats and xenon headlights.

While little information regarding the car's history is limited to say the least, a few minutes spent in discussion with the seller would likely answer your questions. The seller seems to be no stranger to quality cars and this CLK is no exception. The asking price is also very reasonable, or dare we say a bargain, at $14,995. We've seen similar examples go for well beyond this amount on various auction platforms. Considering the color combination and options of this w208, we'd say this is a solid buy.
