We love submissions from our followers and this well cared for W463 is no exception. Owned by Khurram (@Khurram750il on Instagram) for the last 3.5 years near NYC, this 2002 G500 has been had a lot of maintenance items addressed and is ready for it's next owner. G wagens are known for their boxy designs that seemingly never change and their legendary off road prowess. Today they tend to be used more for trips to the mall and the spa, decked out with luxury features and even AMG versions that can smoke your neighbors Bimmer. But make no mistake, they are still capable of hitting the trail without a hiccup and they've become a staple in the automotive world. All of this to say that G wagens hold value extremely well. A fully rusted out example with 200k miles will still be high teens. This particular 2002 G500 currently sits with 150k miles for $25,900 and is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic over Gray leather.
The seller has only put 10k miles on this G500 over the last 3.5 years. It's been driven sparingly and garage kept during it's time in NYC. It's earlier years were spend in the Carolinas and Florida. In the last two years, new spark plugs, battery, wires, and coils have been installed. In addition, all new front suspension has been installed including the steering stabilizer, new tires, brake pads, and rotors. The G is stated to be in excellent running condition and ready for the road as it sits.
There are of course a few quirks to contend with: both seat switches can be finicky and the sunroof does not work although new seat switches will come with the truck, just not installed. The original grill and headlight surrounds will be provided with the truck along with a new Seicane OEM style bluetooth/gps unit with a back up camera which has yet to be installed.
Of course corrosion can be an issue with any w463. Being a southern vehicle for most of it's life, only minor bubbling can be found on the side mirrors. The undercarriage is rust free with only minor surface corrosion visible on the exhaust. Values for the w463 seem as though they'll never come down from where they sit today. Similar to how you'd find a Land Cruiser, mileage doesn't seem to have the same effect as it does on the average vehicle. Given the amount of maintenance and care this G500 has received, we feel it's next owner will find years of enjoyment ahead with minimal value loss.
