White is the New Black: 2008 CLK 63 AMG Black Series

Today we're featuring a vehicle from one of our followers that's being offered for sale privately and is simply too good not to take a closer look at. Like Clarkson before him, Gustavo is now selling his gorgeous CLK63 AMG Black Series Coupe.

Finished in Calcite White (650) over Anthracite Nappa leather (811), this 2008 super coupe has traveled around 69,000 miles since new and is reportedly being sold by its fourth (present) owner. The car was reportedly serviced at the local MB dealer in Puerto Rico where the car presently resides. Including the approximately 35% local tax, this example demanded almost $200k when new in 2008 according to the seller.

The second and third owners put about 50,000 of the 69,000 miles on the car and reportedly serviced the car locally in PR and at the owner's own tuning shop. The present owner purchased the car from the widow of owner #3 in April 2020 and has only added approximately 100 miles since then. Since acquiring it, the present owner has replaced the air filter cover, the carbon fiber ashtray door and fitted four brand new Kuhmo tires.

This car obviously has some cosmetic mods and reportedly had even more in its early life: It was previously covered in a dark gray wrap that has since been professionally removed. The AMG wheels have been painted dark gray and the grill and emblems wrapped in black as well as painting the brake calipers red. Side view mirrors wear carbon fiber style wraps as well.

Fortunately, the car has no engine, suspension or interior modifications; an understandable thing given the incredible performance and handling that these cars provide right out of the box. The seller makes no mention of any mechanical or other issues outstanding on the vehicle but, given the car's location, it might be difficult to swing by for a test drive. Freight shipping to Jacksonville, FL can be had for approximately $1500 and the car has a clean Puerto Rican title in the Seller's name.

It's no secret that these Black Series coupes are bringing strong money in today's market, so if you want to get in, you'll have to look at higher-mile examples such as this one in order to keep the numbers reasonable. With an asking price of $48,000, this black series might be worth the trip to PR for a closer look; especially in a great color combination like this. Most of the cosmetic mods can be returned to stock without too much difficulty if desired, and while the photos are sparse, condition seems commensurate with the mileage in the images provided. If the car checks out cosmetically and mechanically, this CLK63 AMG Black Series could be a risk worth taking. Contact Gustavo at pg1700@hotmail.com to inquire further.
